Dr. Shirnil Channappa received his undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from Pennsylvania State University in 1995. In May 2000, he graduated from the University of Alabama - Birmingham with his doctorate in Optometry. His interest in health-related fields and interacting with patients led him to Optometry. He enjoys helping his patients solve their eye care needs.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and solving puzzles.

Dr. Hoover is the first optometrist in my life where I felt like he was actually taking his time with me. He explained clearly what he saw, what he was checking for, where I was at, and gave solutions and next steps for my concerns. Picking glasses was very easy and the process underlined by honesty rather than trying to make a sale. I even got a handwritten thank you card in the mail after my visit from Dr. Hoover. Just remarkable to find such an amazing office for a day in age where care seems more money based than human centered.
