Dr. Shirnil Channappa received his undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from Pennsylvania State University in 1995. In May 2000, he graduated from the University of Alabama - Birmingham with his doctorate in Optometry. His interest in health-related fields and interacting with patients led him to Optometry. He enjoys helping his patients solve their eye care needs.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and solving puzzles.

I had a great experience with Dr. Hoover and the team at Vision First. I was traveling from out of s... Show Moretate and needed a routine eye exam, so I found Dr. Hoover through Zocdoc. The process was very easy and it helped me quickly find a doctor who was in-network with my insurance.
Scheduling was completely online and straightforward, and when I arrived there was no wait time. The exam itself was thorough and Dr. Hoover took the time to explain everything clearly. He was very knowledgeable and made the appointment feel unhurried.
I also appreciated that there was no pressure to purchase eyewear from the office, although I ultimately chose to buy my glasses from Vision First because they had a great selection. My glasses were ready for pickup within a week.
A final touch that really stood out was receiving a handwritten thank-you note after the appointment. It was a small gesture that made the experience feel very personal. Overall, a smooth and professional visit from start to finish. I would definitely recommend them.
